Everyone knows the Broadway show and I thought I might skip it back in the seventies for that reason when I read it, but this is pretty good, a collection of short stories beautifully and simply written. I remember liking Hawaii when it was published much later and knew without saying I couldn't admit that to anyone I hung out with at the time. It's OK to like Hawaii, of course, as long as you know it's not OK to admit it. 2006-03-07 19:36 | comment
