a review of God's Smuggler

This book is so well-written and fast-paced that I can't put it down when I'm reading it. What a remarkable TRUE adventure story. Brother Andrew's life gave me enough courage to walk blindly into my own small adventure: life in China. After the disaster I had in NYC on my way home, I realized how terribly things could have gone wrong so many times while I was traveling and living abroad. God truly has looked after me, just like he looked after Brother Andrew.

Brother Andrew's approach to fund raising was actually not raising funds at all. For him at first it was a game, to see what kind of "royal" way his "King" would come through with the exact amount of money he needed. Apparently he continued on that way in spite of the increasingly large amounts of money his ministry involved. I know God comes through like this from reading about other missionaries and organizations, but yet most people still fund-raise and ask for support. This has been a source of difficulty for me and I can't straighten it all out in my mind.

Another thing that challenges me is the Brother Andrew seemed to hear his "instructions" a lot more clearly than I do. Or maybe it's the perspective of writing about that past that makes it come through that way.

This is really an incredible book and I hope everyone will read it.

This review is helpful to 2 person.
