a review of
The Little Prince
Spoiler warning: key plot disclosed
...in life has been expressed in this title so beutifully that it is hard to even imagine equivalent titles within literature history of our times.
To quote, bit bluntly I am afraid (will be translated from finnish to english)the most important sentence of this book is
"The most important things in life can't be seen by eyes only"
If I recall correctly, this sentence ended the long lasting relatinonship Little Prince had with his ambivalent friend, the Fox. The Fox fell in love with the Little Prince, but due to the different kinds of natures they possessed, the relationship left a bit distant. Bit of a repetition of the universal myth of the Beauty and the Beast maybe?
Besides the story of the friendship between the Little Prince and the Fox, there are many fascinating little stories which all represent the phenomena of modern western life where people struggle not be left out alone.
Absolutely must the anyone, who have the courage to recall themselves as a Human Being.
