Review: Across the Nightingale Floor (Tales of the Otori, Book One)

Fan of fantasy? Enjoy historical tales? Intrigued by Japanese history? If yes, this saga is totally for you.
Author mixes western and eastern tradition in this clear and intriguing story of good, bad and the ones in between. Ever wondered how they did the Ninja thing? Hearn offers one potential answer introducing the mystical 'tribe' whose members have the skills from flying to hearing distant noises perfecty not to mention some other fascinating skills...
What I would really like to know is how the japanese find this story.
