(Brisbane) Post your favourite bookstores in your city.
Brisbane
Borders, City
I like Borders because their books are usually the cheapest in Brisbane and they have a huge variety of books, magazines and CDs. You can listen to almost any CD there. They sometimes have a sale on the bottom floor for store damaged books.
Dymocks, City
Dymocks is great because of the building it's in. It's in the old Macarthur building on Queens Street where Douglas Macarthur’s headquarters were during WWII. It must be the most beautiful bookstore in Brisbane.
Folio Books, City
The place to get art and design books in Brisbane. They have a great range of architecture books and some very unique art books.
Archives Fine Books, City
Probably the biggest second hand bookstore in Brisbane. Shelves and shelves and shelves of floor to ceiling books. A great history section in the back of the store.
Queensland Art Gallery Bookstore, Southbank
A nice range of art and photography books and a huge range of illustrated books.
Wordsmiths Café, University of Queensland, St Lucia
My favourite book cafe in Brisbane. A great place to study or just relax.
Avid Reader, West End
A little book cafe in West End. They have a small range of books but the location and atmosphere is great.
Bent Books, West End
A second hand bookstore in West End. The books are a little expensive for second hand but it's a really cool store! They produce their own range of hand drawn book marks featuring famous authors.
Bayside Book Exchange, Wynnum
A little book exchange store right next to the bay. Most books are only around $6-$8 and if you bring it back you will get half of the price back as credit. Buy a book then go and read at a cafe next to the sea!

(Brisbane)Another great one my wife and i went to a couple if weeks ago is Riverbend Books and Teahouse in Bulimba on Oxford Street. They have the best selection of books I've seen in any bookshop in Brisbane. And they have sofas all around the store to rest on. Plus a great cafe out the front. They're in an old queenslander house that's been turned into a store with the big veranda made into the cafe.
