Hi guys,
I love the idea of douban -- it's what I've been looking for!! However, I think there needs to be more advertising. I stumbled upon this site by accident, after registering with allconsuming.net and finding its features and user interface severely lacking. It was luck that I found this site on my third try of searching the WWW.

I've tried to get a friend to join (who I know reads a LOT of books), but he wasn't impressed by being the only one on here to read those books that he rated as 5 stars. We just need more critical mass before this site is more useful.

On a separate note, I'm really interested in the algorithm that you guys use to make recommendations for people and to create user profiles. Any comments that you guys can give me relating to this? :)

LZ when chinese douban is start,i joined douban in chinese ,but after 3 years ,i come to English Douban.this place is great ,very quite and sweet
